Memorabilia: A Red Shuttleworth Play

Memorabilia

a play by

Red Shuttleworth

Memorabilia (cast of three women and three men) is a dark and gritty comedy set in Las Vegas.  Memorabilia features a trio of interlocking love stories (for mature adults).  As the characters search for meaning in a tabloid-like swirl, ever so conscious of each other's weaknesses, they try to avoid drowning in celebrity memorabilia.

Memorabilia was written in 1999 during a summer-long residency at the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City.  Red Shuttleworth was honored with the Utah Shakespearean Festival's first ever playwriting residency.

Memorabilia received its first public reading, at the Utah Shakespearean Festival on August 17, 2000.  The reading was directed by Bruce K. Sevy.  Special thanks to USF's New Plays Series Director George Judy and to Jerry L. Crawford, dramaturg for the the development and reading of this play.
