FOR THE HUCKLE BEARERS: A Poetry Chapbook

For the Huckle Bearers

poems

Red Shuttleworth

Red Shuttleworth's For the Huckle Bearers features deeply revised, carved-to-the-bone work:

The Blunt Way

Cheap and Not-So-Cheap Eternity

However... Some Days

Swimming the Sagebrush Lake

That Next Hill

They Say

Today's Homily

While We're Waiting

You Can Ask for Moonlight

Title Note:   Doc Holliday never said, I'll be your huckleberry.  What Holliday did say, as a promise and threat: I'll be your huckle bearer.  Holliday meant to bear the huckles (earthly remains) of his gunfight adversaries to Tombstone's boot hill.

For the Huckle Bearers was published in a limited edition by Bunchgrass Press.
